VERIZON INSTANT DROPS

We helped Verizon Fios launch Instant Internet - an internet speed that was 20x faster than the average speed.
Most people don’t need speeds this fast. In fact, the only people who really benefit from it are gamers.

We couldn’t reach gamers in traditional media channels - they’re just not watching America’s Got Talent, nor were they watching Hulu or Netflix.

We needed a way to reach them where they were.

THE CASE STUDY

HOW IT WORKED

Through a unique collaboration with XBOX, we created the first ever brand campaign
run entirely on the console itself. We took the only ad buy on XBOX and turned it
into a brand portal.

24 hours before the launch of Halo Wars 2, one of the most anticipated
games at the time, we dropped an early copy of the game on the portal.

The catch was that, because our product was called Instant Internet,
the portal only appeared for an instant before disappearing again.

Gamers had to follow pro E-Sport athletes to find out when the portal opened.

Those that acted instantly got a free copy of the game before it was officially released. Those who didn’t had to catch the next drop time tweeted by the pro gamers.

And those who were the fastest of the fast were entered into a competition
with pro-Halo players.

The competition was streamed live to the entire gaming community on Twitch.

Instant drops resulted in a 600% increase in Fios mentions online, 80% of XBox users were reached and Fios became the #1 trending topic on Twitter during the campaign.
